Eye Drop
In the Universe, there is a world;
in that world there is a town;
in that town there is a neighbourhood;
in that neighbourhood there is a street;
in that street, there is a building;
in that building there is a space;
in that space there is cinema;
in that cinema there is a platform;
on that platform there is a carpet;
on that carpet there is a bed;
on that bed there is a mattress;
on that mattress there is a pillow;
on that pillow there is a head;
in that head there is an eye;
in that eye there is an image.

Based on children’s song from the region of Les Deux-Sèvres, France (quoted in Species of Spaces and Other Pieces by Georges Perec, 1974) and my mom’s way of scaring her younger brother when there were kids. Her version started with In the dark, dark forest there is a dark, dark house (...).

Text by Zuza Golińska.
Curated by Jakub Adamec at PLATO Ostrava.
Pictures by Marcel Kaczmarek.
