Missing, painting, 2014

A series of paintings portraying missing people. The transparent layer of the main portrait merges with the portrait from underneath. The underlying faces visible through a thin layer of paint represent the history and the possible future of the ones that went missing under unknown circumstances.

The black and white aesthetic of the work refers to the prints used by the families and friends searching for their loved ones. Usually stuck in public places, the A4 papers or printouts in newspapers are of basic quality, also due to the great number in which they are produced.
